Conditions For Blood Donation

These are few points which should be taken care of before anyone comes forward to donate blood.

How old. You must be at least 17 years old to donate to the general blood supply, or 16 years old with parental/guardian consent, if allowed by state law.
Can i? No, One cannot donate blood frequently at regular Intervals because regularly donating blood can cause leaukemia. It is advised to donated in 3-6 Months Interval.
No it won't be good to donate twice the blood. A Human Body contains 10 pints of Blood out of which 1 pint is donated we cannot donate 2 pints.
Drink an extra 16 oz. of water or nonalcoholic fluids before the donation. Eat a healthy meal before your donation. Avoid fatty foods, such as hamburgers, fries or ice cream before donating. (Fatty foods can affect the tests we do on your blood.)
Making a blood donation is very safe, and most donors have a very good donation experience. There is no risk of catching a disease as every kit (needles and collection bag) is sterile and used only once.
If you are a recreational athlete, you should be able to continue your activities the next day, but we discourage you doing any rigorous exercise following your donation. If you are a competitive athlete, we recommend not donating in the few weeks leading up to an event or race.
